The Trust scaled to new heights and gained momentum in its initiative towards the skill development program of the youth in Kangra district.

The MCM trust signed MoU with CII for the establishment of a Multi Skill Centre with state-of-the-art infrastructure and curriculum to empower the youth of Kangra District. A tripartite agreement was signed with CII and the Municipal corporation of Dharamshala.

The Trust in partnership with CII completed the skill mapping and action plan for the multi-skilling center at Dharamshala. The main findings of the study include mapping of priority sectors which include Tourism and Hospitality, Health, and IT emerging as top sectors in terms of employment. The top job roles which are aspirational, as well as the need of employers, include Food Service, Food Production, Bakery, Tour and Trekking guide, Beauty care, Spa therapy, Nursing and Lab assistant in health care, IT and ITES based job roles.

 

The construction work of Multi skill center was completed and the center was inaugurated on 8th February 2021. The doors of the institution were thrown open to the students with the first sponsored course with the support of REC (Rural electrification corporation).

A total of 100 girl students are currently being provided free vocational training in the job role of assistant hair stylist certified by Beauty and wellness Sector skills Council.
