The MCM Charitable Trust was established in 1972, inspired by the ideals of late Chief Justice of India, Dr. Mehr Chand Mahajan who firmly believed in social welfare and charity, located in the sublime hills of Dharamshala, District Kangra of Himachal Pradesh.

Vision

The Vision of the Trust is economic and social empowerment of rural and urban communities through sustainable livelihood opportunities emerging from linkages with industry and entrepreneurship.

Mission

The Mission of the Trust is to support the needy rural communities with adequate care and sustainable means empowering them to earn a decent livelihood.
 
The core belief of Trust emerges from the verse of The Bhagwad Geeta which defines charity as "Learn to look with an equal eye upon all beings, seeing the one Self in all.” The Trust embarked upon the journey of social welfare through activities that included financial assistance to poor widows, financial assistance for marriage of girls from poor families, “Gau dan” or donation of cows to the vulnerable & marginalized which include single women households to start entrepreneurship/enhance household income.
 
The Trust has donated over 170 cows to date to the needy in Kangra district. Periodic medical health camps for the wellbeing of the elderly community by organizing cataract screening camps & subsequently providing assistance to cover the entire medical costs incurred during & post-surgery.
 

Journey of Trust

The trust has been involved in imparting computer, tailoring, and beautician vocational training to women in the rural areas of Village Bhadwar and Dharamshala region in district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh. Further, in 2019 the Trust entered into a memorandum of understanding with CII (Confederation of Indian industries) for the opening of a multi-skill center at Dharamshala.
 
A strategic partnership started with CII and the trust was able to secure infrastructure from the Municipal corporation of Dharamshala, Government of Himachal Pradesh on lease through a tripartite agreement among MCM Trust, CII, and the Municipal Corporation of Dharamshala. The construction work on the allocated building commenced in February 2020 & completed in January 2021. On February 8th the first training program was inaugurated & launched at the newly renovated center building.
